We cleaned up the Jewish cemetery and the memorial site at Pańskie
On the 11th August 2025, a group of volunteers cleaned up two important memorial sites in our town: the Jewish cemetery and the mass grave at Pańskie.
The work was carried out as part of the project ‘The Story of the Jewish Cemetery in Mszana Dolna. Edition 2025’.
After training on the rules of working in Jewish cemeteries, which in our case is also also a historical monument, the work began: raking mowed grass, collecting rubbish, washing monuments, weeding, scrubbing paving stones, cutting dead branches, and washing information boards.
We are particularly pleased with the participation of young people, who are not working with us for the first time. Their mothers, who are also teachers, and one of whom is also a school principal, set a good example. This gives us hope and deserves the utmost respect.
Volunteers have also prepared the burial site for the 83rd anniversary of the Holocaust in Mszana Dolna, which will take place this Sunday, 17 August 2025.
After working together, everyone enjoyed lunch, during which they shared their impressions and plans for the future.
Co-financed by the Minister of Culture and National Heritage as part of the National Heritage Institute's programme – Together for Heritage. Edition 2025.
