‘Memory Cards of Jewish Mszana Dolna’ – our Foundation received funding in the autumn edition of the 2025 Grant Programme
We are delighted to share another piece of good news – we have received a grant from the Jewish Historical Institute Association in Poland for the project ‘Cards of Jewish Memory in Mszana Dolna’. These funds will primarily be used for the conservation of recently discovered Talmud cards and a prayer book, as well as for displaying them.
This is part of our larger project, ‘The Story of Bicultural, Pre-War Mszana Dolna’ – next year will be its fifth edition, in 2026.
We have received PLN 11,750 for this purpose, while the entire project costs at least PLN 15,306 – we have to make up the shortfall ourselves.
If anyone would like to support us with even a small donation, we would be grateful: https://www.sztetlmszanadolna.com/en/donate.html
Let us remind you that the pages from Jewish religious books were found by one of the residents of Mszana Dolna during renovation work, in the doorway of her house. This valuable find, a trace of Jewish religious life in Mszana Dolna, was given to us, for which we are extremely grateful. After conservation, we will make them available for viewing to anyone interested.
The question remains of finding a place where we could share the collected Jewish memorabilia from pre-war Mszana Dolna. Unfortunately, so far, we have not been able to find such a place in our town. We will make efforts to create a small memorial room for the Jews of Mszana, who contributed to the history, culture and economy of our town. They should find a place not only in our memory, but also in the town itself!
Let us continue our joint efforts to preserve their memory!
