Meeting about he Righteous from Mszana Dolna, in the parish of the Divine Mercy

On 23.03.2025, in the parish of the Divine Mercy in Mszana Dolna, our Sztetl Mszana Dolna Foundation held a meeting devoted to the memory of the Righteous among the Nations from our town, Stefania and Józef Wacławik.

The gathered participants learnt about the heroism of Mr and Mrs Wacławik and the tragic story of the family of Mosze Maurycy Jered, whom they rescued and hid for almost 3 years. He ended up with them after escaping from murderous work in a quarry, having lost his wife and little daughter earlier, in a mass execution on Pańskie in Mszana Dolna, on 19.08.1942.

The Choir of the Divine Mercy Parish, who agreed to honour the Righteous with us, chose and performed beautiful songs.

We would like to thank the Parish Priest Tadeusz Mrowca for his hospitality. In attendance were the current and previous Mayors, town councillors with the chairman of the council, and Rev. Prof. Łukasz Kamykowski, who heads the Council for Dialogue of the Archdiocese of Krakow.

At the end, the participants received brochures with basic information about the Mszana Righteous prepared by our Foundation
