Exhibition on the life and death of Mshana Dolna Jews in the city center

In front of the shopping center in our town, an exhibition dedicated to the memory of Mszana Jews can be seen from today. Our Shtetl Mszana Dolna Foundation has thus inaugurated a series of events related to the 80th Anniversary of the Holocaust, which this year will be celebrated on 21-22.08.2022 and will have an exceptionally solemn character. We have already renovated the monument on the mass grave of nearly a thousand murdered Jews on Pansky Street, work is underway to mark their burial place, to erect a common grave for the as yet unremembered Holocaust victims buried in nameless graves in the Jewish cemetery. Also in preparation is a publication about the Jewish cemetery itself - one material trace of the presence of the followers of Judaism in Mszana Dolna. The opportunity to present in telegraphic summary, on 4 display boards, the most important facts of the history of the Jews in Mszana, is extremely important for the awareness of the residents and the memory of the Victims. Its location in front of a shopping mall, near the bus station and bank, guarantees a wide reception. The exhibition is divided into 4 parts: 1) "That Mszana is not there anymore..."- about the life of Jews in Mszana, their contribution to the history, culture and economy of the city, 2) "Jewish families in Mszana Dolna", 3) Holocaust, 4) Jewish cemetery in Mszana Dolna. The display boards were made available to us by the City of Mszana Dolna, for which we would like to thank you!
