90th birth anniversary of Shalom Rebhun, grandson of Amalia and David Pesach of Mszana Dolna

The grandson of those resting in the mass grave on the Lord's, Amalia and David Pesach Rebhun, Shalom Rebhun, celebrated his 90th birthday! The whole family gathered on this occasion: Shalom's sister Miriam, Shalom's daughters with their families, many generations. It is a great joy and hope for us that life prevails! We wish Shalom a 'Mazal tov' and all the Rebhun family every blessing!

A large part of the Rebhun family managed to survive in the east, but not all. A daughter with her family and a daughter-in-law with her two little sons died in the Holocaust; one of the Rebhun granddaughters died of typhus in Siberia. However, the sons with their families survived (except for the wife and sons of one of them, Jankiel).

Avi, Shalom's grandson, was in Mshana Dolna 3 times. He sang psalms and other prayers over the graves of the murdered - he is an Israeli cantor. In February this year, we hosted him at a concert in our Town Hall; every Saturday for many weeks we have posted excerpts from this unforgettable event, during which Avi, accompanied by the Klezmorim Trio, moved us all! The entire concert, preceded by the story of the Rebhun family to whose memory it was dedicated, can be viewed here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MeBoLpe0rx4&t=1347s , while we have put the story of the Rebhun family on our website: https://www.sztetlmszanadolna.com/pl/rebhunowie.html
