81st Anniversary of the Crime at Ogrodowa Street

81. years ago, in the so-called Leszczyny area of Ogrodowa Street, twenty-some young people from the city's Jewish community were shot dead. Among them were: Wanda Gutter originally from Krakow, Mania Ginsberg from Zembrzyce, Arie Zins, Aron Moses Turner, Moritz Stambrger, Aron Schwitzer from Zembrzyce, Dagobert Machauf from Krakow/Vienna, Schlachet of unknown name from Dobra, the approximate 15-year-old son of Rabbi Weber, who - shot only in the leg - was to be buried alive. The area of the grave has been restricted a couple of times, so there is a suspicion - confirmed by a GPR survey by the Rabbinical Commission's Cemetery Specialist - that the Victims are largely buried outside the fence! In addition, access to this war grave is currently unregulated - people turning from Ogrodowa Street toward it are greeted by a placard reading "Private area, access prohibited." This is an important matter waiting to be clarified and regulated. In addition, from the files of the trial against Nazi criminals in Bochum, which we recently translated, it appears that another 36 people were executed near the site a year later!
Today we lit a candle, recited a psalm we remember!
