Tidying up the Jewish cemetery for European Heritage Days

A large group of volunteers cleaned up the Jewish cemetery before the guided tour on the occasion of European Heritage Days. We are particularly pleased with the presence of young people from primary schools in Mszana Górna and Kasina Wielka. We would like to express our immense gratitude to the teachers: Ewelina Płachczyńska-Struś, Headmistress of the School and Kindergarten Complex in Mszana Górna, and Agnieszka Ceklarz, who brought pupils from Primary School No. 1 in Kasina Wielka. Our cemetery also served the residents of all villages in the municipality. The experienced, older volunteers also did not disappoint! ❤ There were 25 of us in total!

After a short lecture on the rules of conduct at Jewish places of worship and the rules of working in a historic cemetery, the group eagerly set to work. They raked, cut down self-sown bushes, collected rubbish and washed the Holocaust Victims Memorial.

We would like to express our sincere thanks for the work done!

Volunteer work is part of our project ‘The Story of the Jewish Cemetery in Mszana Dolna. Edition 2025’

Co-financed by the Minister of Culture and National Heritage as part of the National Heritage Institute's programme – Together for Heritage 2025.
