Tidying up the Jewish cemetery and the mass grave of Jews at Pańskie
On Friday afternoon, October 17th 2025, a group of volunteers tidied up the Jewish cemetery on Zakopiańska Street and the mass grave of Jews at the so-called Pańskie. This time, another group of young volunteers from primary schools in the municipality of Mszana Dolna joined in the work accompanied by their teachers. School No. 2 in Mszana Górna and School No. 1 in Kasina Wielka participated in the volunteer works. The older, regular participants in our joint care for this historic necropolis and important place of remembrance did not disappoint either.
Leaves were raked, branches and rubbish were collected, the alleys and stairs were cleaned, and the monuments dedicated to the memory of the victims of the Shoah were washed. Earlier, participants, who were taking part in the work at the cemetery for the first time, were trained in the rules of conduct in this special place, permissible interventions and health and safety rules.
After work, the young people enjoyed pizza, and the older participants met for a dinner.
The work was part of our educational project ‘The Story of the Jewish Cemetery in Mszana Dolna. Edition 2025’.
Co-financed by the Minister of Culture and National Heritage as part of the National Heritage Institute's programme – Together for Heritage. 2025.
