The shtetl of Mszana Dolna at the ‘Gratitude’ Award ceremony in Wrocław

On 29 June 2025, the Marian Turski Gratitude Award, presented by B'nai B'rith International for restoring Jewish memory and combating anti-Semitism, was ceremoniously awarded at the White Stork Synagogue in Wrocław.

This is the third edition of this wonderful award. As our president, Urszula Antosz-Rekucka, was the first ever winner of the award in 2022, we were invited to this year's ceremony, which was also an opportunity to summarise and present previous winners.

This year's winners are, like us, members of the Forum for Dialogue: Robert Kobylarczyk and Ireneusz Socha, as well as Andrzej Koraszewski and the Museum of Białystok Jews! All of them have made an outstanding contribution to the preservation of Jewish heritage in Poland: Robert in his hometown of Tuszyn, Irek in Dębica, editor Koraszewski is the creator of the website ‘Letters from our orchard’, and social activists from Białystok work together to preserve the memory of the local Jewish communities.
