Summary of the project about the Jewish cemetery - 2024

The second project we carried out again in 2024 was ‘The Story of the Jewish Cemetery in Mszana Dolna. Edition 2024'.
As many as 13 events took place as part of the project, in which 302 participants took part.
The absolute most important thing is the presence of volunteers, taking care of this historic necropolis with us.
We are particularly pleased with the fact, most of them were young people, thanks in no small part to wise, committed educators from five schools in the town and municipality of Mszana Dolna.
We cleaned the cemetery, guided tours - also as part of the European Heritage Days - painted, educated on the rules of behaviour at the cemetery, explained the tombstone symbolism. We visited 3 schools, and the pupils of other schools participated in activities at the cemetery: guided tours and cleaning works.
After the art workshops at this historic necropolis, there was an exhibition in the Municipal Library. You can see short videos of some of the events on our YouTube channel @sztetlmszanadolna.

It is also worth mentioning that snapshots of our activities related to the care of the historical Jewish necropolis in Mszana Dolna were included in the exhibition ‘Guardians of Memory’, prepared by the Polish Embassy in Israel and displayed in many places in the Holy Land.
