In the Primary School No. 2 in Mszana Górna with a story about the Jewish cemetery in Mszana Dolna

We particularly value the opportunity to work with the younger generation. On 24.09.2024, we were invited by the Headmistress, Ewelina Płachczyńska-Struś, to a meeting with the older classes of Primary School No. 2 in Mszana Górna.

It is the pupils of this very school who have worked many times on cleaning our historic necropolis. So they got to know it in practice. Now it was time for an additional, fuller story, both about the cemetery itself, Jewish customs connected with commemorating the dead, but also about the life and death of Mszana Jews and the Holocaust.

The young people approached the topic with great interest; some stayed after the presentation to talk about the circumstances of the Holocaust, memory, forgiveness, and dialogue.

At the end, all young participants received monographs about the Jewish cemetery in Mszana Dolna, published by our Foundation.

We would like to thank the Headmistress for the invitation and for her continuous presence, with a group of student volunteers, in the work at the cemetery, our common care for this monument and important site for the local community!
