Hanukkah lights of remembrance in Mszana Dolna
As every year, we kept alive the memory of the former Jewish residents of Mszana Dolna by lighting Hanukkah candles every day in our home and, together with the participants of one of our meetings, by singing nigunim on the sixth evening of Hanukkah. We also prepared Hanukkah dishes: sufganiot and rugelach, and shared educational posts about the Festival of Lights on our Facebook profile, Sztetl Mszana Dolna. This is an important way of preserving memory and reminding people of the connections between Judaism and Christianity.
Every evening, we also commemorated the victims of the attack in Sydney, who were murdered during the inauguration of this year's Hanukkah – honour to their memory!
