At the Jewish cemetery with our expert, Jolanta Kruszniewska

As you know, cataloging the Jewish cemetery is primarily the work of Jola Kruszniewska, a Judaist, PhD student at the Jagiellonian University. She decipher and describes every matzeva, creates an index of tombstones, thanks to her work our cemetery is hosted at the nationwide website of Polish Jewish cemeteries: http://cmentarza-zydowskie.pl/mszanadolna.html So far, Jola, has cooperated with us only remotely, as she temporarily lives outside Poland. How, then, we rejoiced to have met her at last in Mszana Dolna! Of course, we spent the lion's share of our time at the Jewish cemetery. Jola was accompanied by her husband, Robert Grzonka, who supported her in photographing tombstones - we hope to share the results with you soon. During the work in the cemetery, we also made a discovery: another matzeva emerged from under the layer of turf. It has not yet been included in the list! It will be the 35th tombstone described by Jola. We were also lucky enough to spend Erew Rosh Hashana together in our house.
