A visit of a descendant of the Rebhun family in Mszana Dolna.

On January 18, 2022, we had the joy of hosting Avraham Taylor, great-great-grandson of Amalia and Dawid Rebhun, who once lived in Mszana Dolna, running a shop and a flour and groats warehouse. Unfortunately, they were murdered in the mass execution of Jews from Mszana on August 19, 1942. Their sons survived by escaping to the East  - you can read about the family's history in the "Life / Stories”. Avi, who is a cantor and sings beautifully, provided us with valuable materials about the family a few months ago, was in cordial contact with us, and finally came to visit us. We showed him around all the places important for the history of Jews in Mszana, we also visited the place where the Rebhun house once stood. At the sites of the murders of Jews at Ogrodowa Street, at Pańskie and in the Jewish cemetery, Hebrew psalms sounded poignantly - Avraham is a cantor. We hope that our guest will come for the 80th anniversary of the Holocaust this August. He promised that he would do everything to be here, maybe even with his family. In Israel there is still Avi's grandfather, Shalom Rebhun, who remembers the pre-war Mszana. He lived with his parents in Rabka, but often came to his grandparents, to Mszana. Mr. Shalom provided financial support for the renovation of the monument at Pańskie, where Amalia and Dawid are buried, and for the commemoration of the Victims lying in the Jewish cemetery, for which we are extremely grateful.
